Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Lipstick #29 Opera Rose

Lovin This YSL Pink Lipstick!

I just picked up this lipstick from the mall a few days ago.  I had no plans to spend money on cosmetics but  I have this debilitating weakness for the gold YSL lipstick packaging.  Its shiny and catches my eye...ADD for you:(

YSL Rouge Volupté Lipstick (#29) Opera Rose
Nevertheless, I gotta say I'm super glad I emptied my wallet and picked this lil pink baby up.  Its such a beautiful medium pink, perfect for summer! Bonus: It has SPF 15 and it adds volume to your lips, woo-hoo.

This shade comes from the YSL Rouge Volupte series and is densely pigmented with a satin like finish and a soft shine.  Its very creamy and practically glides onto the lips.  I gotta admit its a very luxurious lipstick and I love pulling out the elegant gold case (maybe a little too much lol).  You definitely want to exfoliate your lips before wearing any of the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks because they are so creamy that they literally slide right into your lip lines.  Very little goes a long way so don't windshield wipe on your lips ladies!!!

What I love about this color is its versatility. Its a vibrant rose pink which is bright enough to wear on a night out but also soft enough to wear during the day.  Meaning if you wear this to work, people won't be staring at your lips all day.  I think it will flatter a wide variety of skin tones as well.  When I applied it, it gave my complexion a healthy glow.

Because of the creaminess of this lipstick I would not describe this particular item as a long wearing product.  It does look lovely on the lips but if you have anything to drink or eat you will find yourself reaching for that classy little gold case to reapply.  I would try wearing a lip pencil underneath to try to extend the wear time.  I woud not recommend this for a special event (ex: wedding) because it definetly won't last the whole day.

Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment & Deep Repair Masque

My Hair Haul!

Left: Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment 4.2 fl oz
Right: Macadamia Deep Repair Mask 8.5 fl oz
After hearing all the hype surrounding this product line I have finally decided to try it out for myself (Ok...I totally caved). Just got this in the mail. I'm gonna try it out and then get back to you beauty peeps and let you know what I think about it! Mission macadamia begins now :o)

I've always been a loyal Frederic Fekkai haircare user. I looove his products (check out the Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care Conditioner..its the pink one & smells diiiivine). His products are pricey but I'm a leo and leo's love their hair :o) Realistically speaking, I'd rather invest money on my hair and maybe budget myself with cosmetics. Fekkai products always seem to tame my wild frizzy waves even when I'm in India where the humidity is off the charts!!! Trust me I can look like a Chia pet if the weather conditions are just right...lol

What's in the magic jar??!!
Anyways, back to Macadamia land... just got this and I've used it only once but I gotta say this might be a keeper! After only one use my hair is lookin much more silkier and even more manageable. I am one of those people who cannot stand strong floral scents because I'm super sensitive to anything that's overly fragrant (my face turns red, I develop a headache etc.) Surprisingly this product has a floral smell but it didn't irritate me at all and I actually found myself loving it. I kept on opening the deep repair mask and taking a whiff...it’s totally intoxicating!

I mixed two pumps of the healing oil treatment into the mask when I applied it and after washing I applied two more pumps throughout my wet hair (to help detangle). Please keep in mind that I do have super thick and long wavy hair so I can get away with a little more product. If you have baby fine hair then you may want to consider using one pump. One great thing about this oil is its extremely light and if you use the right amount it shouldn't weigh down your hair or make you into slick-rick ;o)

So far I am impressed but its really too early to give my stamp of approval. I will use it a few more times and then I will let you guys know whether I feel it’s worth a switch from Fekkai.

Revlon Nail Polish in Blue Lagoon

ALERT: Possible Chanel Nail Polish Dupe!!!

According to Revlon: Revlon Nail Enamel gives up to 10 days of

lasting color & shine!

Blue Lagoon: Beautiful cool toned pastel baby blue shade with a iridescent/pearlescent finish.  Its got a soft sheen without being overly sparkly.  No glitter clumps.  Possible dupe for Chanel Coco Blue or Chanel Riva.  Wears beautifully on my hands without looking too chalky and I'm shade NC35.

Revlon Blue Lagoon
Please excuse my scruffy bottle!
Just picked up this goooooorgeous fun summer color from the mall here in Mumbai (India - I'm temporarily  here for work). These are also available in USA.

Blue Lagoon is from the Summer 2011 Les Romantics Collection.  Some people have even suggested that Blue Lagoon is a DUPE for Chanel's Coco Blue or Chanel's Riva.  I do not personally own either of the chanel polishes but I have seen pictures and they appear to be quite similar in color.  I cannot give you a personal opinion on Chanel's consistency.

However, I can tell you about Blue Lagoon's consistency and ease of application...not so great. (waa-waa). It required three coats to get the full coverage and even then I found it to be slightly streaky.  Its a shame because the color is so beautiful!!! If not for the streakiness this might have made it to my top ten nail polishes simply because the color is sooo lovely.  I hope Revlon reformulates this product and reintroduces it because it really is a unique blue shade that looks great on a wide variety of skintones.

Nevertheless, if you have patience and don't mind applying a few coats of polish then you should try this out.  As much as I love me some Chanel, the price tag on Revlon's Blue Lagoon is much more attractive to me and within my budget:)

Size: 0.5 fl oz (14.7 ml)
Price: $4.99 at drugstore.com
USA Shade: Blue Lagoon 092
India Shade: Blue Lagoon 433

Tarte Lipsurgence Natural Lip Luster in Delighted & Tart Lipsurgence Natural Lip Tint in Amused

Yummy Tarte Lipsurgence Swatches & Review

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Luster in Delighted
Hey guys! So I wanted to share some pics of my new jumbo lip pencils from Tarte's much talked-about lipsurgence line ($24).  The first color is a "lip luster" called Delighted and
I would describe it as a darker peachy/pink shade with delicate shimmer.

Now it does contain some glitter but it is so small that you don't even notice it because it blends in really well with the overall color.  I think the shimmer part is what helps the light reflect off the lips making them appear plumper which is totally cool with me:)
Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Luster in Delighted
The pigmentation is actually pretty good and I wouldn't call it sheer coverage...maybe medium?  Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it blended onto my lips.  I wouldn't really call it a long-wearing lip product because it did transfer onto my tea cup and I had to reapply afterwards. It is however, very moisturizing.  Not sure if it actually lives up to the company's claim that it "increases lips moisture content by 6000%" but I was able to wear it even while suffering from dry lips without any irritation or burning.  The mint scent was lovely and not too strong, kinda like those red & white candies:)

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Stain in Amused
The second color is a bright pink "lip tint" called Amused.  I was drawn to this color because of its vibrancy.  Since summer is right about to start and I tend to be more active I wanted something I can throw in my bag and not need a mirror to reapply. The pencil form makes it pretty easy and user-friendly.

Lip Surgence Lip Stain in Amused
Amused is definetly more sheer then my other Tarte lipsurgence Delighted but the bright pinky color is extremely vibrant & buildable.  Quick Tip: I did notice that Amused got caught in some of my lip lines so make sure you exfoliate before applying.  Also, if your lipsticks tends to bleed I would be cautious of this color....I've got a hunch that it may not be suitable for mature lips.

Tarte Lipsurgence in Amused
Left: Applied once Right: Layered
My only two concerns are the risk of melting and SPF factor.  All Tarte Lipsurgences contain moisturizing & beneficial ingredients like jojoba seed oil, peppermint oil, vitamin c and vitamin e but I'm not sure how strong it is at blocking UV rays.  The price is also kinda a turn off and I don't think I will be running back to buy more any time soon.  Its not one of those products where I feel like, "OH MY GAAAAWD! My life is incomplete, I need every color!" ;o)  It's a fun product if you have cash to spare.  I heard Revlon has come out with a similar product that is more wallet-friendly :o)

**Update 10/09/12**
Just want to let you guys know that the lipsurgence in Amused is very prone to melting.  For some reason the consistency is thinner and it gets stuck on the inside of the tube making it very difficult to reach.  I had to scoop the product out and put it in a empty lip jar so that it doesn't go to waste.  Its kind of frustrating when the only reason I bought this was so that I can use it while I'm on the go.  I went through two Amused lipsurgence pencils and both had this same problem:(
